Product Overview

Custom UHF RFID asset cards are card-format passive UHF RFID tags designed to identify assets without direct line-of-sight scanning. Unlike ordinary printed asset labels, these RFID asset cards can store EPC, TID or user memory data and can be read by compatible UHF RFID readers for faster inventory, receiving, shipment verification and asset control.

The card surface can be printed with barcode, QR code, logo, serial number, asset number or other human-readable information. This allows the same tag to support both RFID-based automation and manual visual checking. The card can be produced in standard CR80 size, long strip format, square format or custom sizes such as 85.60 mm, 20 x 80 mm, 30 x 70 mm and project-specific dimensions.

CedaGlo RFID asset cards can be hole-punched for cable ties, screws or nut-and-bolt mounting. Adhesive backing is available for quick installation on suitable surfaces. For metal equipment or highly challenging surfaces, the final tag structure should be tested or upgraded to an on-metal RFID configuration to protect reading performance.

Industry Application Needs

Why Warehouses and Industrial Teams Use UHF RFID Asset Cards

Warehouses, factories and logistics sites manage large numbers of reusable assets such as pallets, containers, bins, trays, tools, fixtures and machines. Traditional barcode labels require line-of-sight scanning and are often slow when many assets need to be checked together. UHF RFID asset cards help each asset carry a readable digital identity for faster non-contact identification.

Compared with soft labels, a card-format RFID asset tag can offer stronger handling performance, easier hole mounting and a larger printable surface for visual ID. Compared with fixed hard tags, a custom RFID asset card can be adjusted in size, shape, printing layout and mounting method to fit project-specific assets.

Surface & Installation Notes

For plastic pallets, bins, trays and wooden assets, standard UHF RFID asset cards can often be tested with hole mounting or adhesive backing. For metal equipment, machines or dense liquid-filled assets, the buyer should confirm whether an on-metal tag structure is required. UHF RFID performance is sensitive to nearby metal, liquid, tag orientation and reader antenna placement, so pilot testing is recommended for industrial projects.

FAQ

What is a Custom UHF RFID Asset Card?

A Custom UHF RFID Asset Card is a passive UHF RFID tag in a flat card format. It can be printed with visual information such as barcode, QR code, logo and serial number, while the embedded RFID chip stores EPC, TID or user memory data for non-contact asset identification.

What protocol does this RFID asset card support?

The standard UHF version supports EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C. It works with compatible UHF RFID readers within regional 860–960 MHz bands. Chip and memory options should be confirmed according to the target reader system.

Can the card be customized with barcode, QR code and serial number?

Yes. CedaGlo can customize the card surface with barcode, QR code, logo, serial number, UID, asset number and variable data. Printed data can also be matched with EPC encoding files for project deployment.

Can the RFID asset card be mounted on metal equipment?

Standard UHF tags may lose read performance when mounted directly on metal. For metal equipment, machines or tools, an on-metal version, spacer, foam backing or special structure should be tested before mass production.

What mounting methods are available?

The card can be hole-punched for cable tie, screw or nut-and-bolt mounting. Adhesive backing can also be added for suitable flat surfaces. Hole size, hole position and backing type can be customized.

What is the typical read range?

Read range depends on chip, antenna, card size, reader power, reader antenna, mounting surface and environment. Compact card formats usually provide shorter range than large optimized UHF tags. For important projects, sample testing is recommended.

What assets are suitable for this product?

Typical applications include wooden pallets, plastic pallets, reusable containers, bins, trays, cages, warehouse assets, tools, machines and industrial equipment. The final material and mounting method should be selected according to the asset surface.

Can you provide small quantity samples before mass production?

Yes. Pilot quantities can be used to confirm size, chip, printing, encoding, mounting method and read performance. After testing, larger project pricing can be quoted based on the final specification and order quantity.
