The Ant-RC09-255/255 puts 9dBi of right-hand circularly polarized gain behind a panel 30 mm deep. One N-Type Female port at 50Ω accepts up to 20W, so it lands on readers already in service. Overview

The Ant-RC09-255/255 is a circularly polarized panel antenna for fixed UHF RFID installations. It carries 9dBi of gain behind a sealed off-white ABS radome measuring 255*255*30(mm), and presents a single N-Type Female port at 50Ω for the coaxial run back to the reader.

The pattern is the reason to specify it. At the 3dB points the beam measures 60° across the H-Plane and 55° across the E-Plane, and the front to back ratio stays at ≥17dB, which keeps radiated energy off the area behind the panel. Input headroom runs to 20W and the feed is DC Grounded.

How much gain and how wide a beam does the Ant-RC09-255/255 give?

The antenna is rated at 9dBi with right-hand circular polarization. Measured at the 3dB points, the beam-width is 60 degrees in the H-Plane and 55 degrees in the E-Plane, and the front to back ratio is at least 17dB. Those beam-width figures are quoted at the 3dB points, not at the nulls, so the usable read zone on site will look narrower once tag orientation and nearby metal are taken into account.

Will it work with the reader I already have?

The port is N-Type Female at an input impedance of 50 ohms, which is the standard interface on fixed UHF RFID readers. Maximum input power is 20W, so check that your reader port stays below that figure. The frequency range covers 902-928MHz and 865-868MHz, so confirm the band your reader is licensed to transmit on before you order.
