It is still a PVC-based card and is not biodegradable, so the sustainability advantage is in recycled material and reduced virgin plastic, not compostability.

Which chip frequencies and standards do RPVC cards support?

Recycled RPVC cards can be built with LF 125 kHz, HF 13.56 MHz / NFC, UHF 860–960 MHz or contact IC, using common platforms such as MIFARE, DESFire, NTAG, iCODE and FM series. This makes them compatible with most access, transit, loyalty, retail and ID systems. The exact chip is selected to match your existing readers and security requirements.
