Two configurations share one radio and one software image: the 6-inch C5 UHF puts a 2160 x 1080 screen in front of a long pick list, while the 5-inch C5 Fingerprint + UHF adds a TLK1NC02 sensor for sites that have to identify the operator, not only the goods. The UHF module is based on Impinj E Series chips, and Impinj Gen2X is supported. Android 11/13 runs on an octa-core 2.3GHz processor and is upgradable to Android 16.

Overview

The C5 is a pistol-grip UHF reader for teams that count stock in bulk and then have to act on one item out of the pile. Its UHF engine is based on Impinj E Series chips, transmits at 1W (30dBm, +5dBm to +30dBm adjustable) with 2W optional at 33dBm, and peaks at 1300+ tags / sec on circular polarized reads. Ranges and rates depend on tags and environment.

What separates the two configurations is not the radio. Both carry the same module, the same output power, and the same battery choices, so the decision is about the front of the device. The 6-inch C5 UHF gives a picker a 2160 x 1080 screen to work a pick list on. The 5-inch C5 Fingerprint + UHF carries a TLK1NC02 sensor instead, for sites where the person completing a transaction has to be identified alongside the goods. Two PSAM card slots are available on either build, so a payment or access application can run on the same hardware as the count.

Barcode work is optional and handled by a CM60 or a Zebra SE4710 imager. The NFC radio reads at 13.56MHz over 2-4cm. The touch panel is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass and accepts gloves and wet hands. Accessory compatibility — Both configurations take the same 7000mAh and 13400mAh removable pistol batteries, and both accept the same Micro SD (TF) card up to 512GB. The 2 slots for PSAM card are optional on either one and are ordered with the device, not fitted later. The TLK1NC02 fingerprint sensor is part of the 5-inch build and cannot be added to the 6-inch build afterwards.
